Our Mission

Lokol Solutions is a social enterprise and consultancy firm. Our mission is to promote local experts in the environmental and social space who have a passion to make a positive impact with their skills both professionally and in the community.

Lokol Solutions collaborates with talented Ni-Vanuatu who are committed to create and sustain positive change across our islands. It serves as the only Ni-Vanuatu / indigenous-led think tank for environmental and social research.

Through our shared values of culture, kinship and respect, we work alongside communities and government to listen, collaborate and create meaningful change.

Our Team

Michael Taiki, Director

Michael Taiki is the Founder and Director of Lokol Solutions. He brings ten years of work experience in Vanuatu and the Pacific region on environmental projects with communities.

Michael graduated from Charles Darwin University, Australia with a Master of Environmental Management. Michael also serves as Manager of Projects for Pacific Blueprint Vanuatu.

Michel Leodoro, Geoscience & Environment

Michel Leodoro is a Geoscientist and has worked for over ten years with the Ministry of Lands & Natural Resources in Vanuatu. He specializes in environmental management and geoscience research.

As an entrepreneur, he is the Principal Consultant of KAZ EnGeo. Michel graduated with a Master of Science in Earth Sciences (First Class Honors) from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.

Trisha Aruhuri, GEDSI & Research

Trisha Aruhuri is a GEDSI expert who has a wealth of experience working with the Ministry of Trade in Vanuatu and UN Women. She is currently employed as the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Manager with Save the Children Vanuatu.

Trisha is a strong advocate on youth issues and women empowerment through sustainable livelihoods. She holds a Master on Applied Anthropology and Development from Australian National University.

Carol Aru, Education & Research

Carol Aru is an educator with over twenty years of teaching experience at both secondary and tertiary institutions. She is an author of indigenous language books and has contributed to curriculum development in Vanuatu.

Carol has facilitated trainings across the Pacific and Europe as a researcher and linguist. She holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of the South Pacific.
